Call for Speakers
The K-12 Open Minds Conference Is Seeking Presentations
K-12 Open Minds will be the definitive event in North America for advocacy for and learning about Open Source Software and Open Technologies in K-12 education. The conference focus is on the three critical areas for the adoption and use of Open Technologies: Leadership and Policy, Teaching and Learning, and Technology and Infrastructure. Our speakers will be drawn from both existing decision-makers as well as developing leaders from within the educator community. We are particularly interested in speakers with hands-on experience.
The OpenMinds Conference will be held September 25-27, 2008 in Indianapolis, Indiana, with most presentor sessions conducted on the 26th and 27th. Speaking proposals are due by end of day Friday, August 22. A panel of educators and technical staff will review your proposal and notifications will be emailed by August 29. We encourage all who might be interested to submit proposals.
Proposals should focus on open-source software, tools, curriculum, and support mechanisms that can be used in a K12 education environment using or considering using open source. In general, it is an expectation that conference materials will be posted to a website after the conference so that others may freely partake of the information provided.
Share your ideas and best practices with your colleagues at the K-12 Open Minds Conference! Click below to submit a proposal.
